Passion Pit – Live to Tell the Tale Lyrics 17 years ago
It's "rapturously demanded" not "rapture asleep upended", and I'm not sure if it's "keen gaze" but I really can't tell what he's saying at all right there. Beautiful song though.

Interpol – Rest My Chemistry Lyrics 17 years ago
whether or not the line is "with no pain" or "in cocaine" both are a reference to cocaine as stated previously because when on coke you become numb, anyway on to my step by step interpretation.

"I haven't slept for two days
I've bathed in nothing but sweat
And I've made hallways
Scenes for things to regret"
when on coke you will hardly sleep, and you will sweat a lot. the hallway line is simply talking about the mistakes he has made while high making even such simple places as hallways scenes of regret for him. also the whole "my friends they come and the lines they go by" line is simply saying that he is losing friends to his drug addiction

"I live my life filled with no pain
Just some rage and three kinds of yes
And I've made stairways
Such scenes for things that I regret
Oh, those days in the sun
They bring a tear to my eye"
this is probably my favorite verse from the whole song. he's saying that he's so numb from all the cocaine, and that all he is anymore is just angry (it's called coke rage for a reason - people do tend to get more violent on coke) and wanting to get high no matter which of the 3 (snorting, smoking, injecting) ways are being used. the stairways line is just like the hallway one, but driving the point home by using another simple place which he has caused a scene of some sort in.
the sun line could be one of two things, it could be referring to the heat waves a person gets while on coke but it could also be referring to his life before he did all this cocaine "they bring a tear to my eye"

after this it's obvious that some sort of girl enters the story, this girl is young and innocent like he was before he got hooked and it makes him feel even worse about himself which is why in the next line
"I see a sign, it says “okay”
Gotta take a ride, just recline in the faraway
Got to take some time to realize"
he contemplates doing some more coke(taking a ride in the faraway) so that he won't think about all the painful memories this young girl is stirring up

however he can't bring himself to do it
"but you're so young" the "but" really is a powerful line because he had himself all psyched up to get high again "but" he can't stop thinking about this innocent girl
"like a daisy in my lazy eyes" i'm not entirely sure what this means but I personally take it to be that this girl is - like a daisy - something simplistically beautiful that wakes him up out of his lazy state.

and therefore all this leads to him deciding to "rest" his habit for tonight, which is a powerful step towards quitting altogether because he's starting to realize how much damage the drug has done to him (the no sleep, the rage, causing scenes everywhere, and all the friends it ha taken from him)

quite possibly one the best addiction songs ever written

Radiohead – Nude Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is really very straightforward. To me it's about adultery, "don't get any big ideas/ you'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking" because if you do cheat it'll be empty "just as you feel it you don't" and you'll have to live the rest of your life covering it up "paint yourself white"
