i think this song is sort of a song saying "lets go down swinging" with a relationship in some ways. They have to go apart for some reason, and they might as well cherish the moment of being together. |

The song is about hope. Its not about death, or anything like that. It is not about him contemplating suicide, its about hope. U can even twist it to a religious view and say its about redemption (unborn child can reference to virgin birth) killing the old and starting new. |
