| Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Beautiful and sad song, my favorite radiohead song.. though some have pointed out that some lyrics were "pulled from a hat" I believe this song has a personal meaning to Thom Yorke from reading alot of his interviews. "Yesterday i woke up sucking a lemon" could refer to waking up in a bad mood but with radiohead its usual not that simple, I believe hes expressing his bitter disappointment aka sucking a lemon. The two colours in his head( spelled the english way) again speaks of the mood of a human being, and how we are influenced by our moods it would be interesting to see what these colours are but we know dont we? from Videotape red, blue and green."What is that you tried to say" is in my opinion a reference back to the o.k computer days where all the "noise" of our lives drowns out everything, we cant even express our inner thoughts, to Thom Yorke this is the prison of our lives. Finally "Everything in its right Place"signifies our desperate need for order, for everything and everyone to be in its "right place". Amazing that Radiohead could say so much with just five lines about the human condition but thats why they are the greatest band in the world. | |

Wish away the nightmare Wish away the nightmare after listening to this song countless times i think this is my favorite on In rainbows... i love the part about 1:45 where this jazzy guitar comes in you can really see the influence Jazz has on radiohead.. such a great song, almost like Dylan with his vocal delivery in the beginning too . |

amazing song.. wow ..ripelive is entitled to his opinion but this is a terrific song and inrainbows is so jaw dropping beautiful throughtout that im beginning to wonder what album was HE listening to. This song seems to be about someone or something breaking a unified mind/body/soul with greed possibly?(Can you take it with you Disavow the pleasure) and the general feeling of separation is evident (Because we separate it ripples our reflections Because we separate it ripples our reflections) ie because we separate something it distorts our reflection of ...truth?love? or perhaps some deeper need.Fascinating song! |

| Beautiful song...very powerful . Seems to be a testament to a life and the videotape being a way to say goodbye. Simple yet profound. | |

amazing song, i love the way thom sings this. The lyrics are very biting, sarcastic and also show a bit of longing. "What's the point of instruments Words are a sawed off shotgun" pretty much sums the song up :).Possible relation to Myxamatosis with the whole "cheshire cat grin" line? Seems to be a not so fond reminder of a bad date, but I'm sure there is a deeper meaning I'm not grasping at the moment. |
