--as evil and disturbed as it is to think about, there's no denying that this really is happening in society.-- I think this is the case with a LOT of Dir en grey songs.. the lyrics are often very disturbing, but it does really happen. Things like incest, rape, suicide and the like.. They do draw attention to very big taboos, although I don't think most people look at it that way. Like your explanation of the song, people think it's just fun, or interesting, or simply disgusting and don't even want to think about it (Freud would be so proud). I don't know what Dir en grey and Kyo in particular want to accomplish with their lyrics but that's pretty much the impression I get: drawing attention to some serious problems in a nonconventional way Hmm, Dir en grey makes me think of complicated things on so many levels. |

It reminds me a bit of that Eminem song where he locked his pregnant wife in a car and drove off in the water to commit suicide. But that's the only similarity because the rest of the theme was different. "I've packed up everything I loved in the trunk of the car over there putting in the key I'm going for a last drive from the cliff I'll be free..." To me it looks like he (that is, the person in the song) wants to commit suicide together with 'everything he loved', so that could include his sister. I think he made her pregnant, and the last lines are the sister's view. I don't think the sister is dead yet, but maybe she has already given birth to the child. Hmm, this song makes me think.. There's lot I want to say about it but my english isn't good enough to express it all.. XD |

I believe there's an interview where Mana says his name. And yes, it pretty much ruins his female appearance =D. He does sometimes whisper through voice distorters, like in Saikai no Chi to Bara. If you watch the life performance you can see it =D He does this in Kyomu no Naka de no Yuugi too. I thought he did it in this song too, but I was wrong. The live performance is by the way very, erm, HOT =D. just like the song itself. |

It's a beautiful song.. I do think they express themselves better in Japanese though ( Not that I understand Japanese, but I can read translations ^_^ ). But the weird english gives it a little extra something. I once made a painting inspired on this song + clip, with parts of the lyrics written all over it. It looked sucky but I managed to confuse my arts teacher ^_^ |

Where did you find this? 'Ici la bas soudain' It doesn't really make sense.. maybe it's spelled wrong or something. Ici-bas means 'here on earth' and là-bas is 'over there', so if it's meant like that ( and I'm absolutely not sure about that ) it makes sense. If it's not meant that way, 'la bas' should be 'le bas', which could make sense too I guess.. But I think 'Here on earth over there suddenly' makes more sense regarding the context and such. I'm not trying to sound like I'm an expert in French by the way, I'm studying French right now but I'm definitely not on a very high level yet XD Anyway, a very beautiful song, I love it. One of my favorite MM songs |

It's very beautiful. I didn't know the story of Rapunzel very well, but I like the song even more now. I love the violin and her voice in this song, I think it's my favorite. |
