Listen to some other AA songs: "And consequently all my pride has all but died Which leaves me Down on my knees Back to the place I Should have started from Been beat up Been broken down Nowhere but up When you're facedown On the ground I'm in last place If I place at all But there's hope for this underdog" -Underdog Never heard lyrics more true. And that's just one among many. Sounds like you're just a little biased. |

I don't know if this has been commented on yet.... but is the second line of the song- "One look puts the rhythm in my hand" -a reference to 1. guitar playing 2. masturbation 3. other? It's a debate I'm having with a friend. What do you guys think? |

I'd have to disagree. How could some of you come to the conclusion that this song's about a breakup? Where do you see that? Didn't you guys know that The Fray is Christian? So doesn't it seem plausible that this song has spiritual meaning? "Pray to God he hears you And pray to God he hears you" I do agree that this song is about his friend committing suicide, but that's not all. It's about him sharing Jesus with his friend and his friend rejecting what he says, and then committing suicide. "He will do one of two things: He will admit to everything Or he'll say he's just not the same And you'll begin to wonder why you came" His friend will either repent of his sins or he'll say that he is different and Christianity is not for him. He chooses the latter and later commits suicide. The singer is regretting not being able to reach him with his beliefs before it was too late. I know most of you may not like this meaning, but do a little research on the bands religious backgrounds. |
