to me it's about monotony first of all. damon seems to cover that in a lot of his lyrics. "Bang goes another day In and out of one ear Everybody's doing it so do it too" makes you think of someone (very 'Ernold Same'-like if you will) working a shite, boring job, doing the same thing every day. the sensory deprivation tank makes a lot of sense, especially in the sense of physical isolation. that can tie into the line "i don't need anyone, but a little love would make things better." cutting yourself off from chances at love? dunno, i'm rambling really. fantastic song, great lyrics. unbelievable it's off a debut really. honestly leisure is one of their better albums i think. blur rules. |

how does insecurity go with capability to speak about drugs? i think you're on drugs.. it is very annoying when people go "uhhh, yeah, like it sounds like its all about like druuugs." no. they're not. not every fucking gorillaz song is about drugs. can't you guys realize damon albarn is more clever than that?? he's one of the most brilliant songwriters EVER, stop thinking they're about drugs!!!!! |

hmmmm, ACTUALLY i think i'm going to have to change my mind. i;ve re-read the lyrics and they do sound "end of relationship-y" i dunno, by damon's voice it sounded upbeat, though the music is saddening almost. i think this is another damon albarn brilliant lyric then, like he's purposefully contradicting himself. maybe? |

bobby82 seemed to sum it up well. okay, its annoying when people assume all of these songs are about girls and love and such.. if you paid attention to albarn's lyrics, especially with the gorillaz, you'd see he goes deeper than "i love you baby baby" |
