| Nevermore – This Godless Endeavor Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| In addition to everything stated above, this song really describes the idea of absurdism: the human condition is absurd in that it is ridiculous to look for meaning in a wold that simply exists, and nothing more. Absurdism is more than that, I would recommend reading ALbert Camus' The Stranger or his essay on The Myth of Sisyphus. | |

| Black Sabbath – The Devil Cried Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's the law on the other side Just a tear lets you run And though many have tried I know I'll be the one to make the Devil cry -that's how the song actually goes |

| Black Sabbath – Ear In The Wall Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is an attack on wiretapping. Although he is not overtly political, this is an issue Dio has written about before (The Eyes-Master of the moon). | |
| Black Sabbath – Die Young Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The middle of the song, based on live performance, is: Die Young, Die Young/ Can't you see/hear (depending on Ronnie's mood that evening) the writing in the air/ Die young, gonna, die young/ someone stopped the fair... I think that this song actually advocates a more cautious lifestyle. It suggests the fruitless ending of living your life to an extreme and disregarding the furture: "Behind the smile, there's danger and a promise to be told: You'll never get old - ha! Life's fantasy - to be locked away and still to think you're free, You're free, we're free" -These lines, along with Dio's tone, suggest that the we don't understand the nature of our existence and all of the possibilities/opportunities that we have. We trap ourselves (to be locked away) in a vision of ourselves being young and indestrutable (and still to think you're free). |

| Black Sabbath – Computer God Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about a terrible cycle: humans created the computer to process information at our command, yet now computers are gaining intelligence of their own and transforming people into cold beings who "Program the brain, not the heartbeat." The Computer God is the Dehumanizer that the album's title references-mankind is losing the characteristics that of humanity. | |
