Rammstein – Stirb Nicht Vor Mir Lyrics 18 years ago
I love this song.

The lyrics are so beautiful. "Ich weiß nicht wie du heißt, Doch ich weiß dass es dich gibt. Ich weiß dass irgendwann
irgendwer mich liebt" -> wonderful :)

Rammstein – Spring Lyrics 18 years ago
One of my favorite Rammstein songs, this one's very haunting. I think this song is an assault to people who are attracted to accidents and drama like flies are to poo. About people who seemingly can't live without the intense satisfaction they derive from watching bad accidents, and just STAND there without doing anything while the victim(s) may be dying.

You see it everywhere: traffic jams are usually caused because some idiot(s) just HAVE to slow down to see how bad the car crash actually is, whole groups of people gather round when someone got hurt bad (broken something, or worse like being stabbed or shot).

Rammstein – Engel (feat. Bobo) Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, you can shock Americans with practically anything. When the original cover of Herzeleid (Rammstein's first album for the culture-barbarians who don't know) came out they had to change it immediately, because everyone went like "ZOMG those are half-naked Germans on the cover, they must be NAZIS lolololol!!!!111oneone"
Please....

As for the song itself, I think it's a really original take on being an angel.

Rammstein – Sonne Lyrics 18 years ago
Some really cool interpretations here, especially yours, BlackDragon.

I was told it was about a boxer, so that's the take I have on this song, although like almost every good Rammstein song, you can interpret it in multiple ways. I read that the videoclip about Snow-white came just because some band members where watching that particular film while Sonne was playing in the background... They had so many ideas for a videoclip and couldn't decide which one to use so they went with the Snow-white idea.

Rammstein – Sehnsucht Lyrics 18 years ago
One of my favorite Rammstein songs. It's about longing and how much it can hurt, be it longing for love, sex, or just longing to be somewhere else, perhaps even to lead another life.

Rammstein – Nebel Lyrics 18 years ago
The way I see it, it's about a (young) couple walking across the beach. The girl knows that she is going to die and wants to tell his boyfriend, but she can't. Instead she asks him for a last kiss.
One of the most tragic and beautiful songs I've ever heard, and DEFINITELY Rammstein's best ballad.

Nine Inch Nails – Only Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't know just what this song is about, but I do know that the first half of this song is awesome inspiration for what you can tell your boy/girlfriend if you want to hint that you have ideas of possibly ending your relationship.

Provided he or she did some pretty shitty stuff to you, obviously.

Rammstein – Bestrafe Mich Lyrics 18 years ago
Der Herrgott nimmt, der Herrgott giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiibt = the reason why Till Lindeman has become my hero.

To me this song is just about sado-masochism. However, given the fact that Rammstein loves to delibarately give multiple possibilities to interpret their songs, rooquie's theory might just be right as well.

Nine Inch Nails – The Becoming Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is fucking brilliant. This is what sets Trent Reznor apart from the wannabe, being-depressed-to-act-cool groups *COUGHlinkingparkCOUGH*. Generally, all you can hear is the vocalists whine: "oh noes, I don't know what's wrong with me, I feel so sad, I don't know why".... Trent, on the other hand, knows EXACTLY what's going on inside him (or anyone struggling with depression) and this song explains it all.

Nine Inch Nails – Mr. Self Destruct Lyrics 18 years ago
The Downward Spiral is a concept album, about a man who sees his life turning into ruin and falls into a deep depression. During the song "The Becoming" Trent refers to "The Machine", which is a metaphor of the dark side of the human mind, the part of yourself that wants you dead.
This song is about the machine, introducing him/itself. It's the part of your mind that tells you false truths to make you even worse and becomes your "guide" on your way down the downward spiral (I take you where you want to go, I give you all you need to know, I drag you down, I use you up).

It's literally said in the lyrics: "I am the silencing machine" (I'm sure it should be "THE" and not "a" as written in the lyrics).

As for the song itself, I don't think I've ever heard a song that had a more frustrated sound to it than this one.

Nine Inch Nails – Beside You in Time Lyrics 18 years ago
Hands down my favorite NIN song. IMO there isn't a song Trent's written that sounds more hopeful than this one, and I think it's therefor the most powerful song he has written up until now. Some may find it boring and repetitive, but to me this song is one rollercoaster of emotions, especially when the last part (at the 3:40 mark) kicks in.

As for the meaning of this song, I'd like to share my opinion with that of Ubig.

Wow, Strawberry Fields9, that was a cool comment. I was about to write down my own take on this song until I've read yours. You said it all.
