| I still think current politics in the states are skewing what people think of songs from other countries. I don't get anti abortion so much from the video, I take moreso the numbing of humanity in regards to a gender role, the loss of innocence, things like that. The english translation we have here is a nightmare. Though you could interpret this song as anti abortion, it is such a hot button issue here that I think it is implanted in the minds of Americans that this is something most countries regard as important, though clearly it is not if you have perspective on world news... and you can find many other meanings herein as well. If you look for meanings of a song it can always be in the multiples, and to me, looking for parallels between what one thinks a song is trying to say while keeping an eye on the current issues being propogated in the news of a certain nation is probably the worst way of going about solving the puzzle of what a song truely "means". Think in more facets, folks. That anti abortion bent, might have worked in the late 80's - early 90's. | |

| The whole that has been torn in reality refers to the logic defying rationale and skewed bias upholding the western world's (mainly, United States) current expansionistic beliefs. The dam of corpses holding back the Potomac is the compiled number of those lost in battle and wrongful civilian deaths, but the hole is still widening as more choose to believe that expansionism is in the interest of bettering poorer nations rather than a purely reptilian lust for consumption. | |
