Absolutely beautiful. The last bit to me seems to be a bit as if no one's laughing at, they're all laughing with because they're scared it'll be them next. |

The ceiling's very pretty part I think is Amanda's terribly eloquent expression of denial. Oscar Wilde said "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars". As a stereotypical drunk, the character would spend a lot of time in the gutter, but is looking up at the "pretty ceiling", or the stars, and thinking they can do better, and it isn't a problem. Alternatively she spends lots of time in bed and gets to look at a nice blank ceiling rather than the mess that is her life. |

Well I am neither tone deaf or a chav and I love this song.
Not exactly meaningful though, but then neither is Peaches and she's great too. |

Regarding the "I'll fuck her up" part, they both sing "I'll cut her" three times and then you can hear Sue say "I'll fuck her up" whilst Dee carries on singing.
I LOVE this song :D |

I believe Kate has said it's not about paedophilia it relates to a film about a house where the children are possessed by the old staff or something, so the woman falls in love with the gardener who is actually in the body of the young boy which is what disturbs her, but hey I may just have made all that up. |

Maybe the mistakes are there to show the kind of guy she likes are the ones that know the numbers are wrong, which ones are wrong and what they should be. Like a call-out song :D |

I agree with trinity. Hasn't Kate even said it isn't refrring to paedophilia but the story about the man possessing the child? |

The best routine in the history of dance routines, apart from Rich Man's Frug. Great pace. |

I adore the phonograph version I wish I'd seen it live. I think it's the most powerful. None of this climbing up ladders business... |

One of my favoyurite songs. I prefer the current West End version where they're both females, but they made it too raunchy, so dancewise the old curtain routine was better imo. |

Agreed. It's a shame that on the old album they had to change "Jewish" to "Meeskite" isn't it? That was hardly the most risque part of the play... |
