do you all not understand what "Keep dropping bombs until the whole worlds dead. They'll say its all been done and its all been said. Turn this message into a pop movement. A fashion statement, call it politics. You can mark my words they'll put a spin on it because its all been done." means? Like guys, you dont get it, the interpretations you are coming up with are what hes singing against, youre just putting his song to a political meaning, saying that it has to do with iraq? how about just put this song towards the idea of human nature and everything about it, no politics, no wars specific, just the destruction that humans cause over stupid things and the way we all think. By saying this song is about the iraq war is going against exactly what the song actually means. Gotta look a little deeper for the true meaning of his words. "Manifest destingy is just a fancy word for murder" - still the best line ive heard in recent history.. besides "everytime, everyday, anyway, acid" |

| if you all wanna know where you heard this sound before... listen to some Beatles. Yellow Submarine, Sergeant Peppers and the Lonely Hearts Club, White Album, Abbey Road... this album is Beatles influenced. | |

| how the hell do people say its a shame that they like the beatles and decided to sound like them? thats really a big deal to you that they sound like one of the greatest bands of all time that will forever be immortalized? fuck off. the new album is really good, no band stays the same throughout every single song and album, people change. they like the music theyre making and thats that. they really dont care what you think about them. | |

and also to dag_102, the entire "amount of comments on songs" argument, is inconclusive because pretty odd. has just come out recently, while fever has been out much longer, so therefore will have more comments on songs. duh. |

| yes. this entire album sounds alot like something the beatles would come up with. that is the first thing i thought of when i heard this. and i think its pretty damn clear, that this song is about an acid trip, and like alot of the other songs on this album... DRUGS, primary sense for all songs on this album... read the names of the songs, and the lyrics of the songs and how they link. it makes alot of sense. | |
| The Offspring – Kristy, Are You Doing OK? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| yea kensredemption, this song means alot to me too... my best friend, who was 17 and saving herself for someone special, was raped and had it all taken away. there are many of times where ive had to help her stay alive and not commit suicide because of this, it has really messed her up a lot. everytime i hear this song it makes me feel like theres a hole in my stomach and i wanna just go kill the asshole or just call her and say im sorry i couldnt help. | |

pTn... youre exactly right, Dexter said so in an interview that it was about a girl he knew when he was young who was molested and raped. Its also clear in this verse. "Though the marks on your dress Have been neatly repressed I knew that something was wrong And I should have spoke out And I'm so sorry now I didn't know 'Cuz we were so young" |

| tjtech, i get what youre saying about terri.. that makes sense. and yes tim is straight edge, but that doesnt mean that he doesnt know someone involved in drugs, and thats who this could be about. most of the lyrics dont really pertain to terri shaivo really cause she was a vegetable and didnt even know she was alive... and the lyrics are talking about an addiction of some sort like withdrawal symptoms. or like i said it could be about someone or something you simply cannot live without, like a girl that you love and cant simply live without her... maybe thats just what it seems like to me cause thats my experience right now and i feel like i can relate =] | |

| ok, stop looking at it so bluntly... this song is an allegory, meaning it has two meanings: one obvious(drug addiction) and one that you have to decypher(sp). The drug addiction one i understand 100% but there also is one that you have to think about. This song is about something that you can't live without. You can't live without it and its just fuckin you up but you still need it. a good comparison is that of a relationship or a girl... i know that sounds cliche but its how i see it. | |
