| as far as i see it, it's a very simple statement summed up in the final lines - we probably will never be able to prove the existence of a god or gods, although people may believe them to be true. but we do know how we evolved from the point we arrived on this earth, which is based on science and unwavering fact. its about a belief in science rather than putting hope in a god figure. | |

| i think a bunch of people are misinterpreting this. i dont see how it relates to 'emo' culture at all, and i definitely cannot see how it supposedly hits back at whining and melodrama. in fact, if anything i think it might reach out to those people with its key line ('how we survive is what makes us who we are') and pleading with the listener to keep their head up and pull through whatever brings them down, not in a harsh, tough love kind of way, but in a positive, supportive way, that echoes the old punk values of togetherness and courage. | |
