Brand New cannot compete with Neutral Milk Hotel. Period. They are a fantastic band, but you really cannot compare the two. Still, this song is beautiful. I love the original, of course, but somehow the imperfection of this cover gives me chills. That is actually one of the most appealing aspects of NMH-music that in genuine and raw. I would not trade that for anything. <3 |

Okay, you misspelled refrigerator. Just heads up. ANYWAY. I definitely get the dead soldier impression, WOAHCAKE. And I got a serious WWII vibe from this. I mean, there's not really much evidence to support that, but I'm definitely thinking WWII. Eh? I guess that's it. It's a pretty straight forward song, I think. But it probably has a super deep meaning that I just can't comprehend. ^^;;; |

I am probably in love with this song. *points to username* Yep ^.^ This song is so lovely, since it's so straight forward but really conveys the feeling perfectly. PS-I didn't get how risque this song was until I listened to it a couple of times..."let's do what married people do", "...without the kid" (!) Call me naive, but I totally didn't get the *ahem* sexual reference until a couple of listens. So yeah, I'm a loser. |

A failed romance, maybe? "If your right hand is causing you pain, cut it off" could be some kind of breakup thing-if you don't like who your with, get rid of them and cut all ties and try to forget everything about the person. That's kind of the way I think about it, as that's sort of the way all my relationships have gone ^^;; "We must talk about our problems" is probably a response to the breakup deal. I almost died when I heard about this song---new song=new album. And another Bloc Party album is nothing but a good thing! |
