Gloriana – Lead Me On Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is so awesome. It's pretty self-explanatory. It captures that desperate emotion so well, where you don't even care about respecting yourself or your pride you just want someone so bad.

Coldplay – Warning Sign Lyrics 16 years ago
This song reminds me of my friend that recently passed away. We had lost touch a bit before he died and now it's captures that regret feeling of wanting to go back and change things. "The truth is, I miss you" describes everything.

The Color Fred – Complaintor Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm pretty sure Fred had much more say in Louder Now rather than WYWTB. Some of WYWTB was written with John/Shaun still in the band and even after Fred joined he was new so he probably wasn't pushing his ideas too much. On LN he wrote most of Up Against, Breaking Pangea's old chorus is in My Blue Heaven, guitar solo in Liar, etc. Apparently he wanted If I Surrender to be a TBS song and that's more the direction he wanted TBS to go in not a WYWTB direction.

Taking Back Sunday – This Photograph Is Proof (I Know You Know) Lyrics 16 years ago
In my opinion this song is about what happened with John, Adam, and Michelle. It's obviously about cheating but I think this line gives it away: "The weight of my decisions were impossible to hold, but they were never yours." Adam is kind of saying that John shouldn't have gotten involved in their relationship at all.

Brand New – Jesus Christ Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is about jesse thinking his faith is not strong enough. ask any person who labels themselves as a christian and they'll say they believe in God and all this but jesse isn't so sure that after death he will do as he says on earth. the whole easier said than done theory. especially in this verse:

"I know you're coming in the night like a thief
But I've had some time, O Lord, to hone my lying technique
I know you think that I'm someone you can trust
But I'm scared I'll get scared and I swear I'll try to nail you back up"

He's knows he is not strong enough yet and is scared his soul will deny Jesus in the afterlife.

"So do you think that we could work out a sign
So I'll know it's you and that it's over so I won't even try"

Jesse want it to be easier to believe in God and Jesus, he is not strong enough to believe on just the Bible alone. He is more of a seeing is believing type.

the chorus to this song got me through so damn much. i wish they'd release a mastered version, this song has too much potential to not be finished. they'll never do it though :(

Taking Back Sunday – Ghost Man on Third Lyrics 18 years ago
wasn't it confirmed that it was about the book 'A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius'

"it's a campaign of distraction and revisionist history" was even a line in the book

The Color Fred – Complaintor Lyrics 18 years ago
This is quite obviously about TBS and Adam in particular I think. Adam responded with a diary entry with the same title on the band's official website.

The Color Fred – If I Surrender Lyrics 18 years ago
it can definitely be related to the whole fred leaving TBS thing, but i don't think thats what fred intended because if you read the lyrics to the choke demo, which is the demo for this song, its clearly about a girl.

but whatever, songs have different meanings for different people so do with it as you please.

Taking Back Sunday – There's No 'I' In Team Lyrics 18 years ago
if you listen close enough in the whole "is that what you call tact" part you can hear the entirety of the Seventy times 7 lyrics. Neil Rubenstein sings"
"is that what you call tact? i swear you're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back
just have another drink and drive yourself home. i hope theres ice on all the roads and you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt and again when your head goes through the windshield"
the windshield part is at the same time as "way too easy"
