| Trans-Siberian Orchestra – An Angel Returned Lyrics | 12 years ago |

"Kyrie" is a Greek word, and it means "Lord". I'm pretty sure about that. People may recognize the word from the traditional Catholic call and response prayer: "Kyrie eleison, Christe eleison, Kyrie eleison" which means "Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy" |

| Belle & Sebastian – Piazza, New York Catcher Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Players do indeed sit on a bench while waiting to bat. In addition, 'benching' a player can mean removing him from the rest of the game. The baseball field is often referred to as a diamond, although geometrically speaking it is a square. However, the catcher is involved in just about every play of the game, so it isn't a boring position. |

| Dashboard Confessional – Hell on the Throat Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think the song is about finding love in later years. The man suspects love might have been sweeter in younger years. He compares his loveless years and their effect on him with years in the cold and their effect on one's throat. The effect they have is similar--that it is hard to speak. While the cold has this effect literally, the figurative meaning refers to an inability to communicate. In this cold atmosphere, which he compares to "the crease of a strangling winter," he finds it hard to belong to the woman he loves. He then looks back on the years he spent in other pursuits. While he considers them foolish, he credits them for making a man out of himself, and for granting the waiver he now has to say the things which he couldn't say before. While he emphasizes that love is still hard, he closes with a simple promise of faithfulness. |

| John Ralston – Avalanche Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I feel this is about the sad aftermath of a relationship upon which the singer had centered his whole life. She left him saying he would be fine, bis life revolves around her so much he carries their picture inside him (metaphorically). Afterward, his life is one long chain of the morose and mundane. He's afraid of the "better days" of loving again sometime because of how crushed he was by the avalanche last time around. This is one of my favorite songs off this albumm |

| John Ralston – No One Loves You Like I Do Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think its about his girl leaving town (for college or something). He's worried she'll stop loving him ("if you lose the spark") or find someone she likes more. Thats why he's reluctant to let her leave, and keeps reminding her that "No one loves you like I do". | |

| 1997 – In Your Car Lyrics | 18 years ago |

It's da-de-ah or something like that. I don't think its words per se. Also, I could be wrong, but I thought it went like: The radio is on tonight So sing it if you're still alive If you're still alive If you're there at all |

| John Ralston – Secondhand Lovers Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Wow, I think you're right. I think its about clinging to a bad relationship and willfully blinding yourself to how doomed it is. "If you don't let on, then I won't let you down." |
