I think the song is just pointing out how our definition of civilization is trivial. He does by making a fancy dinner seem very uncivilized. These things do not make you civilized. |

I see it as discussing the a balance of pious people and non pious people. Pious people worry of the immortal souls of others. I think the mood is, I enjoy my life the way it is, let me enjoy it and don't pray for me. Also mentioning that "It's that the way, it's supposed to be?" Saying, I'm supposed to life like this. |
