Personally, i find this song to mean nothing about satan or lord of the rings, not saying that anyone is wrong (everyone is entitled to their own opinion) but to me this song means that to get anywhere in the music world you have to work for it. You cant just buy your way to stardom. The two paths are the difference between becoming a one hit wonder or a platnum artist. Now if you look at things as a bigger picture like me most of the time, it's simple, it's life. The song represents the life of a rockstar. This is where that To Be A Rock And Not To Roll comes into play, to be an everlasting artist, or someone that fades into time and is forgotten. Your Head Is Hummin And It Wont Go In Case You Dont Know The Pipers Callin You To Join Him. The hummin is the songs of the artist and the piper is the god or rock, callin you to join him, to make it to stardom. The songbird is that initial inspiration that starts every musician. The Ooh, it makes me wonder is the constant thought "are we gonna make it" that every musician has. The "And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reason" is the god of rock leading u to stardom, if u listen hard u will hear, and u will make it, if u do not listen, u will not. The entire last verse is the aftermath, after the musician has made it to stardom, has become an everlasting astist. His showdom is taller than his soul, which means that he has left an impression on all who has listened to his music. |
