The lyrics are so ironic. Throughout Volume 1 and 2 he refers to the character as this immature crybaby. It's so mind numbing... His entire family was killed, and he was thrown into a war that he never wanted any part in. He's just as soon told of his fate as The Crowing, the Endbringer. Props to Claudio the character for completing his destiny. Lol.

Forgot to mention that the world is already ending, the planets are colliding together at this point. According to that interview I mentioned before, Claudio only has seconds to live by the end of this song. It's a sad song.

This is my favorite song on the album. The instrumentation and vocalization really express Claudio's pain at this point in the story excellently. In Claudio's interview with Garrett Press he said that the Keywork is already destroyed, and Claudio the character is reflecting on some of his past loves and his regrets of never being able to tie up loose ends with those people. The life he had been given was a very sad life, and this song really makes the listener feel for him.

The sequence after the scream must be the final dialogue (back and forth)/battle between Wilhelm and Claudio respectively. I can't make anything of the outro, I'm so clueless. "You were the magic that turned a curse in time. You were the beauty that we had to leave behind."

Ever since the first time I heard this song, I thought it was about Mayo. I'm almost wondering if Mayo fails Wilhelm, and Wilhelm casts off his hound. "Hold 'em up against the wall, now they're all of no use to you." I'm not sure how I feel about this. I think it's about Mayo. I think it touches upon the idea that the Red Army isn't going to stop The Crowing at this point. Mayo is rendered useless to Wilhelm. I have no clue, but something needs to happen with Mayo and I would be shocked if Claudio kills him himself.

For some reason, I can't help but hear "I'll dig it 'til we've made your grave" for the opening line to the chorus. That might be way off though.
