not a single comment? this songs epic. the band switched the title to twilight of the innocents at the last minute - before that it was called the boy who lived in hell, they should have left it as that i think.

the band wrote this song when they heard the story of orpheus, i think - it even has a reference to an old greek story about medusa, where if you look at her youll turn to stone.

i can relate to this song, because i can feel the desire to feel comfortably numb, and when i have felt comfortably numb, its like nothing ive ever known, you feel no pain, but no happiness either...its beautiful. but the song in itself, the lyrics are clever, psychadelic things, and the solo at the end is without a doubt my favourite solo ever, especially the live version on 'pulse', to me that solo tells a story, and for each different listener there can be a different interpretation of the story, i want this song played at my funeral |
