It's obviously to her son, and she debated whether or not to keep the child. So it's not exactly a brilliant choice for a pro-life anthem. You pro-lifers are incredibly irritating for the record.. It's great, she kept the child and she was thrilled with that decision, as many people are. But it's Lauren F-ing Hill- as religious as she is, she's a feminist. Retards. Anyways, stick to your christian rock and leave your political agenda out of songmeanings. I understand how hypocritical that sounds given my post, but I wouldn't have said a thing more than "she decided to keep her child, and she was thrilled by that decision. her son blahblah, religious blahblah." if I didn't have to read through your rather ignorant politico schpeal. Anyways... Yay babies, Yay Zio, and more importantly: Yay Lauren. Beautiful track. |

Oh wow........ Well great fucking lyrics. I'm a little iffy about the melody of the track, it's a little more rough/choppy for lack of a better word... than her other tracks (most of). And I don't get the impression she means a violent means of hurting the jerk... Just in the fact that she's stronger than she was and moving/moved on and the stupid f*ck is too blind to figure out how much he loves her and how important she was to him, and I'm pretty sure this is a little after the relationship ended, and he's missing her, whether he's figured that out yet or not, and the fact that she's moved on and such would be devasting to him...... or maybe it really is about physical violence and she's ready to stab the f*cking miserable shit.... Which works equally for me. |

Going to have to disagree with this song being about musicians/the music industry. A lot of the lines seem realllllllllllly specific to a relationship. I'm going to have to say I think the song's meaning is more straight forward than the struggles of the music industry. "I'll try to hold on while you try to let go" "you won't tell me it's gone but baby I'll know" "I don't have a bribery in place", etc etc. I haven't spoken with Aimee to verify but it sure seems to be about a relationship... Even the drug part is likely as straight forward as it seems.... Could be wrong, but just can't see how so many of the lines in this song could have anything to do with what was previously posted... hmm. |
