I'm thinking along the lines of "Alice In Wonderland". The egg man is Humpty-Dumpty, the walrus is the walrus is from "The Walrus And The Carpenter" - the rest I can't fit into this hypothesis. John Lennon did say after recording "let the bastards figure that one out" so maybe it is just a load of non-sense after being fed up of people saying there's always meaning in his songs. But I'm with you there HAS to be meaning in this. Awesome song! |

This song, to me, is about a lad (the frog) who turns into a handsome prince. He whispers sweet nothings into her ear, has sex with her, then turns back into a frog. The video demonstrates this. I suppose the fundamental truth is that most lads are interested in one thing and when once they get it they'll dump her - turning back into the frog! |

A class song!!! With the violent like riffs and the anger contained within the lyrics clearly demonstrates teenage angst with hormonal change, being ignored by parents, noticing girls etc etc |

i think that this song probably has connections to alice in wonderland as Lennon was experimenting with LSD. "I am the eggman" - humptydumpty, The walrus was obviously a character in alice in wonderland. What does it really mean though? Well, that's anyones guess |
