| Thanks for the corrections guys...I feel like an idiot for not getting the "alone" one... And for what it's worth FinchTx22, I did buy the cd, but I know some people who are impatient like myself also downloaded the leak and were looking for lyrics to sing along to. I concur that we should support the artists, and I understand that the labels see most of the money from album sales, but they are the ones who allow the artist to put out albums so I don't think that's a good excuse. So yeah, buy the cd and go to the shows if you give a shit, or don't if not. I'm sure there are lots of fans who get turned on to bands just by downloading them also, so...at least go to a show if that's the case. But again, I don't want to sound preachy either. This is an awesome song by the way, and I really like this cd a lot. Lots of energy and I think it's def Buddy's best work lyrically. | |

| Man it IS a shame this didn't make the album OR the B-sides, it's without a doubt one of my favorite JEW songs period! Such a great guitar solo as well...I hope this sees the light of day in a more commercial fashion soon. Also, just a small correction to the lyrics. I'm almost certain in the first verse he sings "No one stops a girl who knows what she's got." The "combination of strong and lust" part sounds a bit awkward to me as well, but I really can't figure that part out. But yeah, AWESOME tune...and it seems it's pretty obvious what it's about if you read the lyrics closely enough. But again, it's more about what it means to YOU! Rock on. | |
| Coheed and Cambria – The End Complete V: On the Brink Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is strictly from The Writing Writer's perspective. It takes place in his world (the "real" world if you will), and he is praising Claudio as the "Man of the year." Claudio is now free to do as he pleases because his story has ended. "Don't pass up this chance, oh, go tear down the walls. No Gods will be watching, nor cares enough at all. These worlds, they now are ending, as they did at the start. But I'll keep on pretending. I won't go..." He's telling Claudio to not hesitate and cut loose because it's done, but although the Writing Writer has finished this tale, he'll continue to make new ones. This chapter in his life has close, and so too has Claudio's. Claudio can now move on with his own story as the Writing moves on as well, they are free from one another so to speak. How Claudio continues, or if he does, or if there is anything left to continue, I can not say. The Writing Writer on the other hand pretty much sums it all up: "Don't cry no more, boy. You've got the other side of your life. So ignore. I move out the front door, and take out your trash, but I no longer hold him here, I'm not coming back. The world must know my story. So long, Amory. Please drive me home one last time." His story is completed, hence "Good-bye Amory." | |

| I really really like this song a lot, this band just continues to impress me. One thing I was considering, however, is in the final line. I was thinking perhaps he was saying "...the BUSH'S and the bombs..." like the president and his family. I think if the song is touching on politics like I think it is, it could very well be referring to George and company. Just a thought. | |

| Well, according to the band the song is about "Unspoken awkwardness when two people are faced with their past." Ha, so it's hard to argue with the guys that actually wrote it. I def kind of got that vibe from it too though. Unless of course you're following the lyrics in the original post in which case it's about chocolate stocked in a car. Ha, just kidding of course, it's obviously tough to go by ear all the time but that line really made me smile. If only because it makes absolutely no sense with regard to the rest of the lyrical content. But yeah, totally another epic Jimmy Eat World ending track that, for me personally anyway, hits home. | |

| ..and obviously I mean to say "kiss YOUR hand.." in my previous post. | |

This song is really really good. One correction though, the "All forces left..." line should be "I'll force a laugh to break the silence." Also, "I'm at as I've always been" sounds kind of awkward, and I know it sounds like that's what he says in the song, but to me it seems more like he's saying "I'm-a as I've always been..." and "She's-a lost in this..." which is probably just as awkward sounding and definitely more Italian sounding but hey....who knows. Still a great song by a great band. Def touches on feelings of longing for someone you'll probably never have the chance to attain. In my opinion the character's singing about someone he's never been with but has always admired, and he's finding himself in a position where they are alone together and he's dying to say something but can't, and now he's kind of lamenting that fact. Hence the "it's a dream, but there's a real world waiting" line. He knows he can't dwell on fantasy and regret forever. It's kind of a sad song if you think about it that way, but it's also kind of inspiring because he knows sometimes it's just nice to have that someone to long for, even if you know you'll never get them. |

Just a few corrections I'm hearing... You close you eyes and kiss hand, then you blow it. But it isn't meant for me, and I notice (know this?). If you always knew the truth, then the world would spin around you Are you dizzy yet? Respectfully, some honestly I'm calling out Do you hear the conversation we talk about? I'll back away to the safety of a quiet house All talk and not allowed to think, we were living dreams And she never crept close to our naked feet If everything I meant to you, you can lick and seal then fold in two, then I've been so blind. Take it all back, take your first, your last, your only. Take it all back, take it all back, Everything you showed me. This must be how it feels when the feeling goes. You said I have the shot that starts my clock Baby it's ok You said you never have regrets Jesus, is there someone yet who got that wish? Did you get yours, babe? Those are just a few of the things I've heard, although some of them still don't sound quite right, but this is an awesome song. Gives me a lot of the same feelings that "23" does. |
