Actually it's really about spiritual healers giving sick patients false hope in their 'alternative medicine' when the faith healers know that they don't actually possess the power to heal. Which is generally all faith healers. This album came out after James Randi exposed Peter Popoff as a fraud on TV. |

"what would someone who's not Christian know about Christianity?" What would someone who's not a communist know about communism? You make a great point here. "Just ignore the fact that they fail to inform you of the 5x as many school teachers who are just as sick." What does this have to do with priests that molest children? Your statement would actually somewhat make sense if you said "5x as many SECULAR school teachers who are just as sick." But pretty much.. It was a statement without an actual point. If you mean that people are only focusing on priests who molest, rather than random school teachers who molest.. Then there's a practical reason for it. School teachers don't carry lots of moral baggage in their job description, but priests do. "The Church doesn't give two shits about the "flaws" you think it has." Yeh, and Kenneth Lay and the others at Enron didn't give two shits about their flaws in morality. What does not giving a shit about flaws in their religion have to do with reality? "How can religion centered on SUFFERING be a "CRUTCH" for anything?" A crutch for hatred. Specifically the hatred of gays, among other groups. "You little pukes need to take a course or two in theology" You're right. Anyone who hasn't taken a class on a subject shouldn't be stating their opinions. |

You don't need the threat of hell, promise of reward in heaven or some other religious basis in order to be a decent human being. The religious basis for morality is like a patch for otherwise sociopathic mindsets ("Why shouldn't I rape and murder if God doesn't exist?" is basically the same as saying "If God didn't exist, I would be out raping and murdering.") |

"you think because you watched the six o'clock news and you saw more of the war on Iraq, and your girlfriend dumped you last week so obviously there is no GOD." I think this is very reflective of the way christians view atheists. They think people stop believing in God because "bad things happen to them". That's completely a myth. And the only people that it's true for are young kids who are "angry at God". But simply put: Atheism doesn't mean "angry at God", it means "no belief in God". "we were obviously just put here for chance for no real meaning in our lives." Atleast now I know how you'd live if you found out that your belief wasn't real. I however, don't live as if there's "no meaning to my life" simply because I'm an atheist. |
