Anti-Flag – Right On Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's just AF accepted that people like a band because it fits their image or because it is cool, so instead of getting all worked up about it, they just go 'right on' and just do what they love doing.

Anti-Flag – That's Youth Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree with Paraless, and it's so refreshing to hear a song about just more young people, doing normal stuff. I think that this song represents youths more than most of the songs out there about youths today. I love the fact that they aren't talking about punks or depressed kids, their just talking about the everyday teenager/youth. This is by far my favourite song by Anti Flag.

viral169, he uses the word bling in sarcasm...i think he uses the word bling to represent the useless, superficial shit people buy to make themselves 'happy'

I played it in Audacity, reversed it, slowly it down and listened. It sounded kinda creepy, the voice that said the backwards message.

adequateandy, I never thought of it that way, it kinda makes sense, considering most of us have been stumped about why he'd have a smile on his face.

I reversed it, then slowed it down using Audacity, and by god does it sound creepy, even if it is a good message.

Anywho, I agree that it's MSI taking a stand against all the people that say rock music has subliminal 'satanic' messages. Very well done, if I may say so myself

Mindless Self Indulgence – Seven-Eleven Lyrics 17 years ago
In an interview, Jimmy said that his songs didn't really have a meaning. I think that he just sang it because it's funny, and lots of people go to 7-11 for slurpees.

Mindless Self Indulgence – I Hate Jimmy Page Lyrics 17 years ago
I think that this song, as well as taking the piss outta himself, is Jimmy sayiong that rap/DJs are shithouse. Also, there's the molestation that has been linked to that kind of scene and the people in it. I don't think Jimmy actually hates Jimmy Page though...I think he just hates everyone.

This is basically Jimmy taking the piss out of eBay. Gotta love MSI, they'll sing about anything and everything under the sun.

Mindless Self Indulgence – Mark David Chapman Lyrics 17 years ago
I totally agree with B12 and mustgofaster
The line that strikes me is:
If your still doing this cuz you believe in it
You are so fucking lame!

Because as Jimmy is pointing out, there are so many bands that are in the music scene to get the benefits (eg. money, getting laid) and aren't in it for the music. He is also identifying them as emo bands, because everyone has jumped on the emo bandwagon because it is the 'cool' thing to do.

I also think that the Hitler thing has to do with Jimmy's belief that conformity is evil, which is essentially what Hitler was tried to do with the Aryan thing, and he is also taking a swipe at emos, who have the same 'emoboy dreamy haircut' like Hitler, according to Jimmy.

I don't think Jimmy is talking about Mark Chapman, I think he's kinda hoping that someone will do what Mark Chapman did and start taking out the shitty bands that aren't geniuine.

Jason404, that wouldn't really make sense. How does getting a blowjob make sense of the rest of the lyrics especially "well, I'm afraid it doesn't make me smile". Wouldn't you smile after a blowjob?

Although he refers to smiling at the end of the song, I think it's about him realising that he's not alone, that there are other people who are depressed/get bullied etc.

But I guess everyone's entitled to their opinions...

My Chemical Romance – Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that

"oh baby let me in
I'm knocking let me in"

is where in the end he is stoned/drunk and he still wants her, or missing being with her. I know the that rest of the lyrics don't really match though.

It's like in the beginning, his all like 'fuck you, I'll do what I want' when she makes him choose between drinking/get high, and so he dumps her. But when his stoned, he misses having someone there and begs her to let him in her house. After doing that, he totally regrets, and thinks she's a bitch for taking advantage of him while he was drunk/high. Maybe she even hit on Mikey and his friends while she was with him, resulting in him and all his friends calling her a whore.

The Smiths – There Is a Light That Never Goes Out Lyrics 18 years ago
I think it is about how that he loves this person so much, if he died with her in the car he'd be happy. It's like his love for her will never go out. It is about true love.

To me, this song is about depression. Depressed and suicidal people often feel alone and obviously wanted to die. This song is aimed at poeple who laugh and make jokes about depressed people. Everything seems cold to him now, even the leather seats. It hurts, or maybe even angers him that people would laugh about something so serious. He wants to laugh, as he thinks that if he can laugh at the joke it means he isn't depressed.

Depressed people usually keep their feelings to themselves hence the line:

"it's too close to home
and it's too near the bone
more than you'll ever know"

He has obviously witnessed other people in his life struggle with depression, and he realises that that is what he is struggling with to.

The Bled – Beheaded My Way Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is about a person who lied to all their friends, and their friends believed every word. They must have been lying about something really serious to gain such a bitter response when they found out.
I love this song so much!
