To me, the key to figure out the meaning was to see it like a riddle. What one thing broadcasts the hope we place in our ballots, the malice that we put into bullets, the musician and the illuminating spark within us? Why, the substance of our spirits/soul perhaps; something we need to keep strong despite the hardships of life. To me, the lyrics describe at once, the value, the potential, and the horrors of the human spirit. |
