Powerful song. Love it, but i can't really explain it. and as steve says, it goes along with "about and hour ago" and "someone in the road". the "wanderer" or "vagabond" theme is most likely about someone who doesn't find a place where they belong and "home" isn't a tangible place. I guess that is what life is about. Wandering until you find where you should be, who you should be with, or what you should believe in. |

i cannot believe more people did not comment on this song. Def. one of my favorite o.a.r songs. Its just saying don't go through life too fast because it is fast enough already. Everyone needs time to relax and look around and enjoy their life and the people in it. |

i definetly agree with exposedyouth. I read somewhere that the song is fast at the beginning and then gets slower and slower because that is, how exposedyouth says, the speed of life. |

i always thought this song was about a lot of things... or just life in general and advice to go with it. To just take a minute to "smell the roses" instead of moving so fast through life. Or how we get excited for things only to be let down, again and again. My favorite part of this song is "The one thing that you're missing is loungin' on the log right next to you. So pick up that precious something and relax for a delicate few". I always thought this meant that maybe you search everwhere for the perfect person for you (soul mate, i suppose) and, in the end, its the person who is always by your side, but never thought of in that way. Like maybe your best friend. And i think this quote can apply to a lot of other situations, too. |
