| Limp Wrist – Want Us Dead Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
motherfuckin so-called self-proclaimed "patriots," are always the first to preach freedom and liberty and democracy, but only when it pertains to their likings and their personal wants. fuckin the term democracy has become a joke when people can't even have the choice to marry those they love, despite gender preference. It disgusts me that we still live in a day and age where one still has to worry about who they choose to love, because other people have been fuckin indoctrinated to believe as so! All I can hope for is that one day our children will look back on our generation and time and simply laugh, merely because of how rediculously simple-minded and ignorantly repressive we were. BLAH.... limp wrist (i don't want you dead!) ... let it be known! |

| The Lawrence Arms – The Revisionist Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i think confusion89's name sums up his response... CONFUSED! I think you might have taken the words and kinda created your own little story out of it bro... which isn't a bad thing, that's what music and lyrics are all about, personalyzing them, but i just don't think that's what is being said here. Contrastly, I thought this song was about a relationship where neither side really knew who they were, "I've/you've been searching for myself/yourself In other people's eyes," the journey for self-identity, and the fucked up relationship that formulates due to neither of them knowing who they are. It seems as though they are trying to change and reform themselves through one another "the revisionist," but can't ever make it work by venting through eachother, "never gets it perfect, never gets it perfect." The lines: "The mirror is telling half-truths These stolen words finally feel like mine Swollen and sweating, off-time I can see it in your eyes" Just further seems to prove that the whole relationship is forced "swollen and swetaing, off-time" and the dialect between the two is a product of not being comfortable with themselves and is almost the foreign words of a stranger or another person, "The mirror is telling half-truths, These stolen words finally feel like mine" This song is just living proof that anyone who thinks brendon is the better vocalist of the two, not trying to take anything away from him (i love me some brendon :), is just fuckin crazy. Chris is a fuckin lyrical genius, and the way he gets his vocals to demonstrate his emotions is incomparable! |

| The Lawrence Arms – Criminal Lyrics | 18 years ago |

"I think this is about being emotionally dead and unhappy and wanting to change, but being too fearful to do so." ... I agree.i feel it's about never being happy with yourself or knowing what to do about it, thus... " imagine exercise in bed the same routine to reinvent," which is kind of like being in bed and never giving up the mental workout of revisioning or "reinventing" one's character... BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!! :) |

| No Trigger – Hail Mary Leakey Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I'm pretty sure this song is about people not thinking for themselves, and letting outdated religious doctrines dictate their beliefs for them. Thomas Huxley, who was a devout atheist, I think is who he's talking about at the end, and it talks about how people need to start coming to terms with science and moderninity in general. WORD UP! |

| except they actually have something worth while to sing about outside of having a "fat lip."! | |
| Sundowner – One Hundred Resolutions Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song to me is how everybody wants to rectify themselves, and amend their imperfections every new year, but they have no way of ever resolving them. It almost seems like he has to reassure himself that this is the year that's going to bring about the change he's been waiting for (This year let's live like we've never lived before, this is my year for sure)... this lawrence arm's song always depresses me :( | |
| Against Me! – White People for Peace Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| wow what a surprising remark from a man with the name "texas_tank"... fuckin closed minded meat head! Try reading Mark Twain's "A war prayer," and maybe the satire within this song will make a little more sense to you! | |
