A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics 13 years ago
One aspect that non-believers tend to focus on is "how can you still worship God after all of these horrible things that have happened to you?" I know I question a belief in God because of things that have happened to me.

"It's not like you killed someone
It's not like you drove a hateful spear into his side
Praise the one who left you
Broken down and paralyzed..."

Basically, that says to me "you know, it's not like you were a horrible person, who did a lot of bad things and therefore bad things happened to you.So then WHY is God allowing these things to happen to you? Why are you still praising him, when you are the one suffering?"

"...He did it all for you"

The main premise of Christianity is that Jesus died for our sins. so to me, this is sort of mocking that in a way. The lyrics are really quite brilliant.

Pretty Girls Make Graves – This Is Our Emergency Lyrics 18 years ago
I think it's more telling us that we're our own worst critic and how we tend to get lost in the expectations of the world. When our friends and those we care about lose sight of us becuase we've lost sight of ourselves in trying to fulfill those expectations. We think nobody cares about us and forget those that do.

"Don't forget that when you doubt
That anyone will care about
A thing you do and when you're lost
Someone else is always found
A thousand voices, are you listening?"

The Emergency is were lost and those we care about are trying to find us.

Pretty Girls Make Graves – Speakers Push The Air Lyrics 18 years ago
It's perfect! 'Nothing else matters when I turn it up loud!' It' SO true!

Elan VItal's problem was it started out GREAT for the first four songs and then went blah. Then picked up for one song (Selling The Wind - Track 8) and then went blah again. Ot's amazing to listen to the maturity in their music from the EP to EV, but it's ALWAYS fun to listen to them loud!
