| The singer just found out his girlfriend is pregnant, and it was definitely unplanned. "I wish I were a better man/wish I had a better plan..." He probably doesn't make much money and has no idea how to support a kid. He's all mixed up because on the one hand he's elated to be a father- he already feels connected "my blood is in your blood," but on the other hand it messes up all the plans he and his girlfriend had.
