well...I read through the first two or three pages of comments and I must say none of you really researched what this song is actually about or most of you didn't. I didn't read past the first few pages because there is like 15 + pages of comments. But this song is actually about Maynard's Mother (Judith Marie) who if any of you listen to Tool may know a little more. Maynard has a handful of songs dedicated to his mother. Tool recently came out with 10k days there new album with a 2 prt song dedicated to his mother called 10k days dedicated to his mother and how she lived 27 yrs paralyzed before dying. Now This song named Judith (named after his mother) if you read the lyrics may make more sense now. Now all the chrisitans are going to be so narrowminded as to completly disregard everything I just said trying to reason about how the song isn't just an attack at chrisitianity (Spare me I've had a terrible experience with chrisitans end of story). Lyrics like "Fuck your god" are for one backup vocals which Billy Howerdel covers (the guitarist and actually the leader of the band with Maynard as like "the right hand man") these lyrics are Maynard expressing yes his anger at her god. She was a christian and even after being paralyzed never once faultered in her belief of chrisitanity. Maynard's wounds have healed and he has progressed and isn't so much angry anymore my opinion is who wouldn't be pissed in this situation. Your mother who you love so much being paralyzed. He looked for someone to blaim and why believe in a god if he let something like this happen. |
