I'm not the type of person who really listens to this sort of music much anymore, but I was flipping through the channels and decided to listen. I ended up enjoying the song, and I got a bit teary-eyed, because it's the exact situation I'm in right now and have been in for nearing five years. The entire song is about falling in love with a person who you aren't supposed to fall for. There can be multiple reasons why you aren't "supposed" to be with them: age, distance, gender, and perhaps you both may have someone else in your life. The hardest thing to do is to admit that you love that person, and the easiest thing is to say, "I hate you", and hope that one day you will mean it. This song is the definition of a love/hate relationship. |
