i think tihs song is aobut time, how as your life evolves you get corrupted by society's narrow minded perspective of life, and how all your hopes and dreams vanish as you grow up. "Along the long road and on down the causeway Do they still meet there by the cut?" maybe they intended to questionate if you can ever reach that state of naiveness and dazzled bewilderment again also, maybe the bells, besides making a refference to its album, symbolizes the narrator's closeness to death, wich could be physical or psychical as well , as to feeling dead on the inside or something. i don't know, its just my opinion |

| i always considered that the title "the wall", as "ragefan" mentioned, reffered to life, making "another brick in the wall" another important event in life, like his school memories among other things. although i loved the album, i didn't like the movie that much, because even though it clarifies the album's meaning a lot, it looks like an amateur's piece (even waters said so himself). i got kind of dissapointed when i watched it, but anyways, it adds something to the album. the album is excellent by the way. a masterpiece. | |

i thought the same about the sun, alloguia but i don't think that that's it. i think Black&GreenAchilles was right. i couldn't get this song at the beggining, but you've probably got it. it could be that's just me, but for most songs i think that you'll get their entire meaning by having a similar experience, or by knowing a lot about the background.. or in some cases getting high. i don't qualify for any of those things. i wish i did. it could be that im jhsut dumb, but i have a hard time to understand the genuine messages syd transmits through his songs :(. |

i think it's ambiguous, on the surface it could be about a guy thinking about a girl, but if you analize it some of the descriptions concurr with those of anorexic minds: for example, when it mentions: don't care if it hurts I want to have control I want a perfect body I want a perfect soul I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fuckin' special I wish I was special it clearly states an anorexic's objectives (Ana's tend to be that way generally to call atention , besides to have a hot bod) When you were here before Couldn't look you in the eye You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry this connotes a "fat" girl's feelings towards Ana (Ana generally stands for Anorexia in these terms) and how intimidated she feels next to "perfection"; But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here Anorexic's thoughts, due to their low self-esteem (they consider themself fat, even when they weigh 90 lbs.) it's just another point of view. |
