I think that this song is about urbanization. "Roots spread under the mud, drags the steel sprawl out towards the sea" - City's are getting bigger and covering larger areas. "Pack ourselves so tight we can't breathe" - Human population are growing larger and we are forced to live dense. "The grid extends its reach" - Sooner or later our city's will cover all the dry land. "Flames will walk the earth", "Things don't look good" - Living in such density could cause large disasters - conflagrations, diseases, ecological catastrophe. Even global disasters. "And nothing will change" - Urbanization is part of human progression and this habit won't change. |

I agree with you! This is an anti-war song and my favorite Neaera song too. "Violence, the language of the weak" is my favorite line. It is always easier to destroy than create. You can wipe out an entire city with mass destruction weapons in one day, but to build a city it takes many years. People who choose violence are to weak to find a better solution. Real might is to create, but not to destroy: "Let the pen be mightier, than the sword"

I think that this song is about large corporations that exploit workers in poor countries. These companies often are violating labor rights and paying unfair wages. Somtimes they even us children labour. It is almost like slavery and we are supporting it by buying products from these multinational corporations. |
