"I know you know that this tortures me Have I've created the suffering? Show life" It's meant to be "Show me" not "show life" And this song and 37mm MUST have something to do with the AFI mystery. But we will only find out when the recording for the new album startsss. BA have almost finished their tour so it hopefully won't be too far away. |

I'm pretty sure the David is him, it makes more sense that way, though I have been wrong before. I'm going to disect this because it makes it easier:: "Forever waiting for disaster," That applies to every aspect of life really. We buy insurance to cover disasters etc etc. "What David calls servant and master Will you play it too?" What Davey plays at really. "As this displacement begs for water Swimming, bathing Drowning in sorrow." Displacement is refering to himself. And he is begging for relief (water). Because he's in despair. "Scream with me." "I crawl across this cracked expansion I'll be buried, soon." I'll die soon. "Beneath the sand with pure intentions. Wanting something, someone to follow" Wanting company. "For a change, I'll refrain From hiding all of me from you" Pretty basic, he will show this person everything about him for once. "Here's my lullaby Pray for rain, lose your name And watch all your dreams fall through. Hush now, don't you cry." I love this part! It really describes how life is. "I swoon upon my knees come crashing Will you bury me?" Asking to be given an escape. "Today, this small favor I'm asking Hold me. You may drop me tomorrow." I want to feel love for the moment? I find this part seperate from the rest of the song a little; "Calm down Come down, cold resides with me I flee to decemberunderground. As you exhale I breathe in (and sink into) the waterunderground, and I'll grow pale without you." I'm falling into nothingness and I will die here without you. That's what it is to mee. |

The young child is Gibson, Jade's younger brother. Then Davey then that other guy I forgot the name of. This is basically about someone loving someone who doesn't love them back as such, and the love is killing them. But in much prettier words. Isn't it rumoured that Jade wrote a verse of this poem? The second wasn't it? |

And ask if you can take it all away from me. "I will walk 'cross the ocean To where the sky meets the sea, Give this ghost my devotion, To keep you from me." Going to great lengths to date another person in order to get over or become sidetracked from the one that doesn't love him back. "Just say goodbye." Don't try to change it, this is what it is (aimed at anyone trying to help him, I think..) "I live, and i'll die. Hooked on a star, enraptured by the sky," I'll always love and be entraptured by this person. "In love with a satellite." In love with something so far away from me. "I can now admit I'm lost in loveliness. " Caught up in the person he loves who doesn't love them back, and it's beautiful. "Who could just resist distant beauty? Find me if you find a way." That person is also distant, etc. "You may love it if you tried this detachment." Same basically. "From this distance the beauty burns brightly. It's warmer from worlds away." I'm semi close to you (emotionally), and I see your beauty radiating. But your so cold, if I wasnt so emotionally close to you it would be more comforting. "I'll stare forever and love what ever breaks my heart" I'll always be enraptured by this person, I will always love them, even if it hurts me. So basically, person 1 loves person 2. Person 2 doesn't love them back. The title "Semiotic love" means 'what is love?' basically. Semiotics is the theory of something, if you were wondering. I don't really have a way with words but I'm hoping that makes some form of sense =/ |

Also Davey said in an interview that the "Fuck" in the song doesn't mean the sex fuck it means the stuff it fuck. Hopefully that makes sense. |

Yess I go with the cheating idea. And with the Kiss or kill. To me it's like make or break. She could be asking for forgivness and he could either forgive her (kiss) or reject her (kill). And the cry or cut works the same. The end of the chorus could also be about forgivness "with one word I'd take this pain from you". The song sort of doesn't tie together that well, it sort of leaves it as, she cheated, they broke up but he is still there and she is still sort of there. I adore this song |

To me there are two meanings of this song. The love one and the sex one. The love one makes more sense to me; "I've seen what you have made in all it's beauty. What I cannot create I recognize." He's seen the love that she's show him, but he cannot create it in return. Though he was able to in the past (comes from the I recognize). "Let's watch the night explode, just hold onto me." Lets watch the night take its form etc. "I'll whisper you this truth uncompromised." "Wait for a heart that never lies, but not this time." She's waiting for someone to be truthful to her, but he isn't what she is looking for. "Watch those explosions in the sky and you'll go blind, but not this time." Explosions in the sky, to me it means fireworks, as in the firework relationg to love. So there may be those but if they simbolized real love then she would go blind. But they aren't, so the "but not this time" comes into it. "Will you live in hope or dark desire? What can I say? Fuck love give me fire." Will you live in hope to find someone to love or someone to lust? He doesn't want love, he wants passion. "Have you seen what I've made beneath the wreckage?" Wreckage being heartbreak? "Just suffer through the dust and there you'll find the color of a night that burned out from us. Surrounded by it's glow our city lies." I'm not too sure on this one. Maybe their city being their sanctuary or something. "Wait for a love that never dies and you've lost life." If she loves him eternally then she's dead. "One overdoes just to survive." She might try to kill herself or something, but not take enough. He might have something to do with it. "We'll shine this time. We'll make headlines." Pretty self explanatory. That's the best I could come up with. I love this song, probably my favourite off the album along with Mute. |
