Is/was emo even a real genre? If you take the literal meaning of emo to be 'emotive rock' than lots of music falls into that category, basically any rock music with meaningful lyrics, which I guess puts Twin Atlantic into the category. Only thing is they don't meet the other emo stereotype requirements. At the end of the day it's just a label, don't worry and enjoy the music.

The meaning of the song is pretty obvious. It has alot of current day references which no one will understand if they hear it for the first time in a few years but ironically that's what the song is talking about anyway.

I don't know anything about the band besides the guy being on idol once but i had a completely different take on it. I thought it was more about some guy who was in a dark place like getting drunk all the time or something and everyone was giving up on him except her and she stuck by him through all the hard times. This is his way of saying sorry for being emotionally absent and thank you for sticking with him through it all. The nights he can't remember are when he was in that dark place.

I think this song's about someone commiting suicide or at least attempting to. The first verse saying how they're depressed drinking and basically not caring about anything anymore 'this has been a long time coming' The chrous is saying how they think killing themselves is a way to win in their life but how it's not really because it's only really 'the beginning', 'a fake ending' just a coward trying to 'make themselves a way out' The second verse with the angels i think means you had friends who were there willing to help but you're so far gone that he no longer sees them. and then the pills are pretty self-explanitory how he tries to kill himself. The third verse by sleep he means die and he asks is it bittersweet? like is this really how you wanted it to end? and what do you see? reflecting on their life as they wait for the pills to kick in and all the memories that at the very end will 'tear you into pieces' and really destroy you because it's too late.

I don't think there's anyway this song could be about Jesus or God because he's clearly thanking God for this person and if it was Jesus it would still just be stupid. "can't seperate from this love" is a line so obvs it's about a girl! I just think it's so sweet because he's pretty much saying she makes him complete.
