| Does anyone notice how well this song fits Iron Man(the movie, I don't know about the comics)? | |
| Bring Me the Horizon – Chelsea Smile Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is fucking AMAZING...but I'm not sure exactly what it's about. Although I can say with reasonable certainty what it isn't about. I don't understand how anyone can think the band is Christian. There is absolutely no evidence for this, and if anything this song is just further evidence against that. I'm not dissing on Christianity, I'm a Christian bordering on agnosticism. I just HIGHLY doubt they are Christians, and I also doubt they would appreciate being labeled as such. If his comments in an interview with AP are true(look at the comments for the other Chelsea Smile topic on this site) then this song is not about him raping a girl and isn't about something that HAPPENED to him; per say, but about something he DID(sorry for the caps...but there isn't an italics option here..). But not something he did to someone else.He also said that it's something that could have ended the band. Based on this; I have one major. My guess is a suicide attempt; although it doesn't really seem like that, but it's just something that it could be. Also, I don't think the "eating away" part is literal or even physical. Definitely seems like figurative language to me, and I have no guess as to what all of the apocalyptic references are about. |

| The Fray – You Found Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I apologize to all of those who aren't Christian, but this song is definitely about God. I love the Fray because they are in fact all Christians but not really a Christian band; they make music accessible to everyone. While this song is clearly about God, that fact is only clear to a Christian. Basically The Fray does their best not to preach and to write songs that everyone can relate to. Everyone can relate to the feelings that the song discusses, believer or non-believer. The feeling of being alone, being insecure and sometimes feeling like there's nobody you can depend on. The song discusses losing someone you loved. Even if you aren't a Christian, please don't snub the song just because it has Christian inspiration. Think of it this way, God just happens to be the strongest influence in these mens' lives, so of course it's going to come through in their song writing. You write what inspires passion in you, whether it be love, sadness, God, or any number of other things. I really like the part where it says:' I said, “Where you been?” He said, “Ask anything.”' Without this part the meaning of the song would be completely different. With it, it's basically a man crying out to God and asking why it took so long, when really God was there all along but the man just lost sight of that. Without this part, the song wouldn't really be 'Christian'. |

| Maroon 5 – Makes Me Wonder Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| One of the few "mainstream" bands I consider good. I think the song is about a screw up and a guy knowing he can't make up for it and wondering how he could do this if he ever cared. I kinda feel this way about my relationship that ended a few months ago. | |
| Killswitch Engage – When Darkness Falls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| absolutely amazing song,it's definately about christianity. Basically,it's talking about those who don't believe in God are lost and "when darkness falls/we are reborn" could be talking about how Jesus saves us Christians from eternal darkness or it could even be referring to the events of revelation, when the rest of the wor;d will basically be experiencing armaggedon and the closest Earth gets to hell while the Christians are being saved from this darkness, reborn if you will. | |
| Creed – Faceless Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| a great song,he's either talking about Satan as the faceless man or himself and his own "inner evil" | |
| Shadows Fall – The Light That Blinds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| An amazing song. i think it's about how religious doctrine is corrupt and blinds us from the truth of how great God is. Religious doctrine nearly turned me atheist at one point in my life. | |
| Chris Isaak – Wicked Game Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| To me the song is both romantic and tragic. It makes me think of two people. My exgirlfriend and a friend of mine who I'm beginning to fall in love with but she's going out with a close friend of mine. When it says "to let me dream of you" it seems like it really isn't the woman's fault,it's just the foolish thing we as humans do,trying to blame someone whose fault we know it isn't,seriously or not. | |
| Coheed and Cambria – In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The navigator The pilot Her favorite The one they call the vision that bears the gift The navigator The pilot Her favorite The one they call the vision that bears the gift Will, Do the children really understand The things you did to them? And why, oh why? Should they conjure up the will? For you, my love, I would kill him We're coming home pretty soon Coming home I've seen nothing addressing this part of the song. I don't understand what the her favorite and for you my love I would kill him mean story-wise |

| I got to see them play this song at warped tour,so freaking amazing. And its about Jesus and forgivness, which makes it even more incredible. | |
| System of a Down – Roulette Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think the song is about love, the confusion of love, and the insanity and depression longing for someone can cause. I think the titile is maybe the deepest part of the song, and thats saying alot considering how much it says in so few words. The amazing thing is that probobly half of the song's meaning comes from it's tune and the overall musical mood. | |
| DragonForce – Through the Fire and Flames Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I'm surprised they haven't set any fretboards on fire yet. An awesome song and an awesome band. I really like the metaphor of perseverance. I'm excited to play this in GH III but I'm almost affraid of breaking my controller or my fingers falling off lol. | |

| Killswitch Engage – My Curse Lyrics | 18 years ago |
