Tommy James And The Shondells – Crimson and Clover Lyrics 15 years ago
it occurred to me that he might be describing someone with red (crimson) hair, and green (clover) eyes...

Elton John – Someone Saved My Life Tonight Lyrics 16 years ago
I've always seen the chorus as Elton talking *to* Sugar Bear, as opposed to talking *about*.

"And someone saved my life tonight, Sugar Bear. You almost had your hooks in me--didn't you, dear?"

I'm pretty sure Sugar Bear refers to cocaine, and the someone who saved him is indeed Bernie Taupin.

I see why "altar-bound" makes it seem like actual marriage, but it could be a metaphor for death, or even just that he was so caught up in the drugs that he may as well have been married to it. Orrr, maybe he was so drugged up that he almost got married?

Danny Malone – Baby Bleu Lyrics 17 years ago
So, I fell in love with this song instantly. It's certainly very catchy, but felt moving as well.

Initially I thought maybe it was about a love interest or a friend who seems to be stuck, the narrator wanting to be there and to help out.

However, I was then thinking...perhaps Baby Bleu is the name of a car that the singer and his brother shared. It could be so literal. Talking about perhaps a road trip, and then I'm thinking maybe the car has died or been stolen. This would be a great premise for a song. Think about the connection you might have with a car on a road trip, and what would happen if you lost it!

I'm real curious to see what others think about this song.

Plain White T's – Take Me Away Lyrics 18 years ago
I swear there's another version of this that seems to be faster paced that I heard a while back. Am I crazy?

I Mother Earth – Autumn On Drugs Lyrics 18 years ago
I'm thinking this is about leaving behind what's been holding you back. I'm not sure where I came across this song. It doesn't seem too many people know it. I rediscovered it on an old mix I'd made a few years ago during one of THOSE times in my life.

He carries the suitcase, which represents his life (the weight of him). It's showing his scars (worn, broken).

I think the California Wave is that fake formality that you do to be polite.

He wasn't supported or believed in, and it was obvious (lo-fi vanilla).

No one will even notice (who'll want to find me)
