LOL morons, these are the lyrics We believe but we are deceased, Or soon to be. Why act surprised? You've seen the seas, It's just enough to feed the trees. We believe, but we are not free, This wasteland is our prison. Why act surprised? I see the bones through your skin, This radiation from within. I grant you this torn land, I'd rather not live here anymore. Don't say I didn't try, But I'd rather not live here anymore. We believe, but we don't see, The coming of the storm. Why act surprised? There are warnings from time to time, Signs of our own decline. We are the scavengers, We plunder and rape, We're the guests here, the new breed, But act like it's ours to take. I grant you this torn land, I'd rather not live here anymore. Don't say I didn't try, But I'd rather not live here anymore. We believe but we don't see. I grant you this torn land, I'd rather not live here anymore. Don't say I didn't try, But I'd rather not live here anymore. I grant you this torn land, I'd rather not, Don't say I didn't try, But I'd rather not live here anymore. i emailed In Flames and requested the lyrics. i was emailed back the next day. |

This has got to be the best song on the album hands down. The lyrics are amazing. The lyrics are pretty correct. Perhaps "Forced to compete in this bloody game". I was thinking this song related to possibly a present or futuristic society of oppression, perhaps soviet Russia or Nazi Germany and the holocaust. Late Racists is correct, maybe referring to the creators of this oppressive nation. It kinda reminds me of the book 'brave New World', where by from birth you were forced to act in a specific way in Aldous Huxley's spciety of extreme oppression. The chorus reminds me of the conditions at Nazi Death Camps during WW2 whereby predominantly Jewish people were captured and taken to Camps like Aushwitz to be exterminated, as Hitler carried out his plans for 'The Final Solution'. IMO this is, lyrically, the greatest song eva produced |
