Obits – One Cross Apiece Lyrics 16 years ago
I think it's "I come so slow to learn it, now that I am old." As far as meaning, it seems to be about lives lost in the name of religion. I'd guess there's a broader underlying intent, but I haven't caught it yet.

I hear "heavy rain and thunder like mountains torn down." Anybody know if that's right?

Violent Femmes – I Hear the Rain Lyrics 17 years ago
I hear the rain, I hear the rain
I hear the rain, gotta kill the pain (x2)

Bury me out on the lone prairie
Prairie water washin' over me
Bury me out on the lone prairie
Friend to the calls of the coyote

I hear the rain, I hear the rain
I hear the rain, gotta kill the pain (x2)

Bury me out in the lone city
Sewer water crawlin' over my teeth
Bury me out in the lone city
Sewer water washed my daughter down the sewer

I hear the rain, I hear the rain
I hear the rain, gotta kill the pain (x2)

She used to sit and watch the rain,
now I think I'll go insane
(Repeat, adding harmonies & intensity until break)

I hear the rain, I hear the rain
I hear the rain, gotta kill the pain (repeat until end)

(After 2 repetitions, 2nd voice adds:)
Bury me out on the lone prairie
Prairie water washin' over me
Bury me out on the lone prairie
Friend to the calls of the Coyote.

(Here, add in 3rd voice:)
She used to sit and watch the rain, now I think I'll go insane
(Repeat until climax).

I HEAR THE RAIN, I HEAR THE RAIN
I HEAR THE RAIN

Should finish with a few xylophone notes.

Desert Sessions – Goin to a Hangin' Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure it should be "I'm stuck here in Muskogee" in the third line, as in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The rest kind of sounds like they were making lyrics out of whatever they happened to cast eyes upon, or maybe images they were keeping in mind for lyrical use. I'm guessing it was more about mood and imagery than anything else.

Shellac – Song Against Itself Lyrics 18 years ago
Pretty minor correction - it sounds more like "I've already had it out with you."
