I think what bob is saying is that after the slaves were freed, it changed the system. Instead of stolen black men and women doing the work, anyone without money has to work as a slave for the capitalistic slave drivers. |

Tis song has biblical meanings. Rasta along with some religions believe Babylon(roughly translated as Capitalism) will one day be brought down, and an all loving nation will rule for the rest of time. Bob is saying that music(something everyone can have) will unite all of mankind to destroy Babylon. |
