The 'Bridge of Sighs' is a bridge in Venice spanning the Rio di Palazzo. It historically connected the jail to the courtroom and those who crossed it were being jailed and would thus 'sigh'. This song is a fairly direct refernce to the actual bridge. |

I'm not sure about the Bill Hicks reference. I think it's about arguing with your better half. First verse is knowing that you're too angry to solve it in the heat of the moment. Second verse is not caring and arguing anyway. Third verse is going too far and saying something you regret (which you knew you would in the first verse) |
