| She's taken, he wants her to love him only, they lay around and waste the day together and then go their separate ways. He's saying "I understand you're in a relationship but no one can love you like I do, so take your time to figure it out and I'll be here waiting for you". When he calls her "mama" I think it's just slang and not meant to be taken literally. That's my interpretation anyways. | |

| Good take and probably the closest to my own interpretation. The last verse definitely gave me the impression that the girl in the song died. Maybe suicide or maybe an accident or something but none the less he knows he will never see her in this life again. He is sad because he had always planned on going back to her but now it is no longer on his terms. I didn't sense that he was suicidal because the song is very peaceful, but more so that has come to terms with her death and knows that he will see her again in the afterlife (soon because life is short). | |
