this song is really good. its like when a close friend or a girlfriend/boyfriend moves away from you or goes on vacation for a long period of time. as much as you dont want to, you feel like your sitting around the house literally waiting for this person. you are killing time and just thinking about this person, hearing this persons name. you feel desperate wasting your time for this person and you try not to, but you miss them so much and are so in love that "what else can you do" when he says "or leave it all behind and never go through it" , i think he is saying that in reality you have control of your life and you dont have to be in this relationship, feeling this way, and you could end it and leave it all behind. but its too hard so you keep on waiting |

this is my favorite song of all time because it speaks so clearly to me and i can relate to it. its definetly about his love for his hometown, but i think its also about nature and how powerful it is. "Big birds flying across the sky, Throwing shadows on our eyes. Leave us Helpless, helpless, helpless. " i love these lines. he is so engulfed by nature and all its beauty. nature is so massive and endless, that we are always fascinated by it because its larger than life. nature leaves us helpless |
