I think skyeblu87 hit it the closest. I think the protagonist of the song is a first-time rapist and the girl was someone he had previously known. He must have some preconcieved romantic notions of going out in a crash of glory, to which she is only a victum. Her only lines: Here's the part where you save me Here is the scene where you save the day Why can't the ending be happy? Why must it always resolve this way? These song lyrics are more about him and how his life has gone sour than it is about the two of them. This is a sad, dark, and beautifully crafted song. |
