i saw her on may 27 at the bloomsbury ballroom, and she said that this song was "about breaking up with somebody, and then getting so depressed that you're at the point of just not caring about it, and going out and getting really drunk, and then seeing them with somebody else so it's kind of a sad song but then it's kind of a happy song because you're like 'ok well it can't get worse than this let's just get drunk' so let's just get drunk" :) |

they played this song at my friend's funeral last year, it never fails to make me cry. i know it was written about rou missing his girlfriend, but to me it symbolises the loss of a loved one, and wanting to be with them again: "brace yourself 'cause i think i'm coming for you, look up into the sky".

This song is lovely, I think it's about complicated relationships between people because of insecurities and underlying issues.
I think the second half of the song is there to demonstrate the simplicity of life which contrasts with the issues in the first half. |

Is there some irony intended towards the end of this song, where it's about the little girl that doesn't speak, and then "she SAID I'm never ever ever...."?
Like is it meant to be ironic that she is talking in order to get her point across or whatever?
