See this is what annoys me. Why is she childish for saying what she says about Bush? By all means you can disagree with her, but why does it come back to insults. If we don't like Bush we MUST be childish. I actually think the adult thing to do is express your opinions. That as an adult you have to stand for your convictions. But you know unless you're a republican standing up for what you belief in then you obviously must be childish. I love Kimya Dawson and her 'protest songs'. |

I think this talks about all the vices of life. The guy killed his relationship with different things. Verse 1: He did it with drugs Verse 2: He cheated on her Verse 3: Fame gets in the way. Chorus: By doing these things he destroyed their relationship. I just get that sense especially from the "a final kiss and farewell" |

I can't really compare the versions. I think they have different meanings. I think this version is more effective if you want to tell someone how you feel because its so intimite. However, if you take away the personal meaning the shrek one is more powerful vocally. |

To me this song is about falling in love. The beginning stages. Youre not really thinking "oh its gonna last forever" or that you love the person but youre exploring the possibilities of the relationship. "Theres no stopping curiosity." You also don't want the feeling to go away. You want it to grow. Or it could be about "Curious George" :] |

I mostly agree with the people who commented on this song. I think he really likes this person and they might like him back but theyre afraid to make the commitment. I think hes doing everything to show hes commited to the person but theyre still not sure. I dont think hes giving up though. "I’d wonder why it had taken me so long " that lyric just seems to say that the person is afraid. |

I think this song definitely is about an ex. I think the person singing got dumped and now is proving themself. The ex girlfriend is upset because she tried to get people against him and people to believe she was better than him. Now shes trying to reassure herself. I think the cancer reference is hes "spreading" and she can't get rid of him. No matter how much she said about him, people still like him. Then I think the "spiking the punch" is mocking the people. He didnt forget about the way they tried him before he was "the new cancer" so its his revenge. |

I agree with JessKJ. I feel that hes saying I would rather work and not give up. In todays society people break up for dumb reasons. I think hes saying that I would rather work them out than leave. If you think about the metaphor people almost never win the lottery. What relationship doesnt need work? Just like what person gets money without work. (excluding the obvious people who get inheritances.) |

To me this song is about someone who cheats on their partner and completely regrets it. They feel like quite frankly trash (leave me out in the waste this is not what I do) for cheating on someone and doing something they swore to never do. Theyre not ready for someone new they want the person they have. So they try to rationalize what they did with "cheating is a small crime" but after they do it they realize it isnt. His heart (or gun) is loaded and he gave it away. Which means he loves the person in the relationship. Thats how I feel about it. I was in a long term relationship and the person cheating on me. After explaining how he felt he said this song describes it. I can barely listen to it without getting emotional. |
