Ten Years After – I'd Love to Change the World Lyrics 17 years ago
"Tax the rich, feed the poor
Till there are no rich no more"

If you take the rich until there are no rich anymore, that means everyone is equal. There would be no distinction between rich and poor. It's quite the leftist statement. So, Liebherk, your comment didn't make sense.

The Libertines – Arbeit Macht Frei Lyrics 17 years ago
The song is about the presence of blatant hypocrisy and contradiction in society. Though the text mentions the Holocaust, the idea does not have to center around that particular event and its effect. Also, it does not seem to be in disfavour of nationalism exclusively (but rather the idea stated in the first sentence of this comment), although the beginning and last line of the song cause it to look so.

To all of the people who say the bit about slashing his tires is about killing Kurt Cobain, you're most likely wrong. I read in one of my books about Cobain and Nirvana that she and Kurt's friends slashed his tires so he wouldn't run away when they tried to convince him to check into rehab.

I would have to agree with those who say this song is political. The band even use a political figure in the music video, Abraham Lincoln, founder of the modern day, American Republican party.
It may be a song mocking Republicans by calling them something they commonly oppose -- homosexuals. Though, it might very well be what Sataniksantah perceives it as. I somewhat support his conjecture.

It amuses me that everyone who claimed he ripped off Beck's "Girl" is blatantly an ignoramus.
