I heard of Youth Group because I heard the song Daisychains featured on something, and I youtubed it, and then found this by chance. I fell in love with it. It talks about how youth is only a short time, and can never be replaced. It is your chance to be carefree, and the singer does not want to lose it. He would in fact rather die than stop being young. It talks about how we are all different people in the world, but the one thing we have in common is that we were all young once. So, so true. I love this song for many reasons. It is emotive yet, easy to listen to, and I agree with the sentiment behind it. I also love it because it is "me and this guy"'s song, so it holds all sorts of memories for me. Please stop arguing because this is songmeanings.net, not imcoolerthanyou.net. |

My favourite +44 song (I had ticket #155 at the gig, how cool was that) I think it's about a couple breaking up, but to me the stand out line is "this is not the time of place for us to speak like this" because it is so true of every situation I get myself into. I'd prefer the lyrics to be "in a perfect world the future wouldn't make a CHANCE" though, seems more fitting. |

I agree that this song is about a summer romance ending, and I totally identify it after this summer! "Come August, I'll still be singing." shows that he didn't want the romance to end at the summer, but then the second half of the song is about him getting over her. After reading the blog though, I'm not sure if his anger is directed at the girl at home, or towards the Summer girl for ending their romance. Still an absolutely amazing song though, love it loads, makes me upset though! |
