It's like that everywhere. It's not just BMTH's fans. It's 99% of the world. Nobody ever gets the lyrics of anything. I don't consider myself a BMTH fan, but it even surprises that I can appreciate this song better than these guys. It's like this site exists to bring out the idiocy of the fans of a band. |

| Avenged Sevenfold – The Art Of Subconscious Illusion Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Citizen of Evil, if you think that, you're an idiot. The other annoying jolly bitch, shut the fuck up. HERE'S A REVISION: The title "the art of subconscious illusion" probably does not actually stand for the definition of delusions I gave, but it seems to stand more for a prolonged pain or the recurring visions of an event. It's very possible that rape is said in the literal sense. This is by far the blackest song of Avenged Sevenfold. |

|
The link between Brompton Cocktail and Bat Country is that both songs are about drugs. The difference is that Brompton Cocktail is also about suicide where Bat Country is about living. The guy who was saying that the people who relate these two songs are kiddies really made a clown of himself by proving how ignorant he is. The songs does remind me of their first material, but it does link to Bat Country in a sense. |

Avenged Sevenfold tends to talk about delusions and learning, like in Remenissions. "I experience and learn" gives away that the song is definitely about a nightmare. How ca the song even be about a nightmare when the first phrase is "a living nightmare"? It's a metaphor. Some of us actually relate to their songs. |

It's obviously an anti-government song. Let me also quote: "Of course they have control, we're all the same." |

Nice, mono_potassium, let us pretend Critical Acclaim, Blinded In Chains, and Breaking Their Hold aren't political, and let us say they just aleatorily agglomerated random words into a song. They obviously aren't a political band as much as they're a phylosophical band (although it seems they have turned into a romantic band in their new album). They're intention is obviously not to be seen as a political band, but " the more I listen, the more I have to say". Kind of sad to see you imply that a shirt means more than 3 songs. They're trying to be the devil's advocate, as they are utterly disgusted by both sides' aspects. They're so much to explain that you wouldn't udnerstand anyways, being the probably superficially gullible person you seem to be. @Teen_Death_Girl: Of course, how can someone with the non-platitudinous name of TEEN_DEATH_GIRL be pretentious? Obviously, someone with that name is a person that is in NO way affected by the media or the influential masses. amirite? Your name could just be XxSuperGothicPrincessxX or something really original of the like. |

You idiots. I'm getting sick how this self-proclaimed musical fans know absolutely nothing about the song meanings. Some of you get some part of the song, but then completely misinterpret the rest. Let me explain, this song is about personal dillusions caused by yourself in order to avoid a reality that inflicts an unbearable pain. Doing so is futile, as the dillusion can only corrode you as you attempt to give a feign font towards your problems in life, blocking yourself from reality. A haunting depression that inhabits our conscience can't be avoided, you'll never win. And deciet will be found in every corner, making our lives a desolate void of despair and frustration within your own mind and self. You must come to acknowledge your depression and let it adapt to yourself in order to clear your vision, because this is your true identity, and making the imprudent attempt to deny it makes you a fake face, a lost cause. Closing your eyes will make you ignore, but it keeps the truth away, the light that hurts, that makes you scream. Once you come to accept the truth you strive to keep your life on and strive for what you aspire. That's the song, now shut up and don't even try to understand these kind of songs by being pretentious ignorant pricks that you are. You know nothing. |

Well... the the little booklet says: "If you blind, DO it twice.", but the song says different. Does anyone even buy the album besides me? And stop it with the "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"... |

The song is just uninspired. I won't see you tonight part 3 is non-existent, don't screw it. Aside of that, I'm interested on listening to this song, although I really doubt the general album sound will be like that. They're too little songs and you can think most of them will sound different judging by the song names, and what we know of "Scream", "Dear God", etc. |

Uh.. Only the songs in Sounding the Seventh Trumpet were directed towards certain people. This song is in no way optimistic, it's just the rhythm what makes you think so. A7xskier, you're an idiot. If a song is pessimistic, it doesn't mean it's emo. This song is just like Clairvoyant Disease and a little like The Art of Subconscious Illusion in lyrics. Synyster39, you're lying to yourself. |

mo money was the closest. It seems that I am he only real A7x fan in here. This song indeed is about depression or more like the despair that is derived from the irony in life. Explaining it would be too extensive into philosophy, and none of you will relate. You already got most of it, just so you know, "but in my life, I wanted more, I needed more. I taste more.", expresses his dissatisfaction as a despaired idealogue. Avenged Sevefold will forever be my favorite band for the two first albums. If you've noticed, in City of Evil, they gave up on all. |

| Avenged Sevenfold – Desecrate Through Reverance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
nicksa7x, you're wrong. They're not religious, they just happen to appreciate mythology. They, however, criticize religion a lot. Look at Remenissions. KurdTBO, they spelled Reverence correctly, it is the one who made this.. thread who spelled it wrong. And anyways, WakingtheFallen118 is the only one who got it right. This song is about making away of a person that likes him. She is naive, and he explains himself to her, expressing his nihilistic state within society and making her apart. |

Well, A7x isn't (or wasn't) religious. Sometimes God could be interpretted as fate or hope. I'm really deceptioned though, something tells me I'm going to detest this album. |

I gave em Hell hould stop being so pathetically stereotypical and realize that the whole darkness thing is an ambiance, and the vampire symbology is not to be taken literally. This song is about solace and haven. |

Mono_potassium, Breaking Their Hold is so much different from that. I guess they just conformed to everything they have. Ekizzle, let me see, he never says anything like that. Please point out what you mean. If anything, they criticize the government and the people. I don't really see how they act like conservatives. Even if they said so, they're work evinces the difference. |

WTF, that must be the most farfetched and idiotic conjecture I've read. Seriously you have no idea what the song is about. "The Art of Subconscious Illusions" stands for the way humans subconsciously delude themselves into believing what it is not real for the sake of comfort. Let me do the lyrics. >>" A living nightmare, asleep but still aware, the endless torture, the painless pleasure." Stands for the realization of the world's dark issues. In this part, he is disgusted by it. >>"I grasp myself, trying to regain control. I experience and learn, and in another faction of my mind so confused, but everything makes perfect sense. Can't feel the pain, emotional pain is so much deadlier." He grasps himself within his conscience to not fall under the pain it inflicts on him. To him, there is much to learn and experience within the dark realism he has achieved. He confusion is met upon his new realizations and the combination of sentiments, but it is all falls into pieces like a puzzle, which makes a perfect sense he can't deny. This had made him frivolous, but depression corrodes his soul. >>"Lost. You've just been raped. Pain. Your friends can't help you, why won't they help you. Another reality. This can't be happening. Why is this happening. Who the fuck are you? WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!" This is the representation of the point in someone's life when everyone he does has been lost. When he is utterly stabbed by an event that changes him. What you believed in and what you had can't make a difference. >>"Trying hard to figure what's done. I scramble but now I run. The images in my head, all the problems that I've been fed." No longer in the state of Subconscious Illusion, one reflexes upon the past and what's done. It represents such a frustration and desperation, but the thoughts are settled, hence "I scramble but now I run". The person is fed with problems, he's tainted. >>"Punching slowly my mind can't change the speed as my victim bleeds. Now matter what I do or how hard I try, I can't use my abilities." Punches are the representations of the violent and desperate attempts to attenuate his unbearable pain. It is quite a striking representation. However, his attempts result in futility, and he is in despair. >>"Art of Illusion. My razor sharp knives edge pierces my victims body, but I can't take his sould. Punching through jello, stabbing and not killing. Disappointment discomfort." In this part, the song deeps into darkness. The unbearable pain inflicted by something he can see and yet the rest can't has driven him into a psychopathic state, but there's no complete fulfillment his actions, and no satisfaction will be reached from his futile attempts. This part can also be interpreted symbolically in general. Well that was my best attempt at explaining this song to those who can't discern its signification. What a pity it is that you people have no idea of the idea behind a song, and A7x is a philosophic . You have no idea of philosophy and this kind of subjects. Seriously, why do you even listen to the song? Is it because "eet r evil XD XD XD XD XD XD XD and teh screems r teh kewl"? It's really a shame.. |

I can't believe how many of you have so utterly misinterpretted this song. I believe this is there most profound song in all of their history, and it is the most sublime manifestation of their philosophy. First it sets the moment of his death, a representation of despair and frustration. "Human lives to me seem so unreal, they can't see through the fog, nothing past the grey wall.." In this part, it is thoroughly expressed the hindering delusions characteristic in the human populace. In "The Art of Subconscious Illusion", they represent the way how they come into a state of realism aside from the delusions of humans. In Remenissions, they subject those delusions. Humans are subconsciously held staring against a "grey wall" that prevents them from seeing into reality, and they subject belief as an erronous hinder (a structure) that they want to tear down. Next, he questions how dependent is life upion this structure, criticizing their fallacies derived from thi dependency. Basically, he's saying that people are probably only "disciplined" through religion as an act of fear. People want to believe that being good for years will grant them eternal life. Virtually, Shadows says: "Why do we need this? Can't humans understand what we should do?" In the chorus, he then appreciates the futility in life, since we are just a conscience. Then he later appreciates the fact that he's alive in the vast existence, and his aspirations to the lpace we want to be. In "We come out at Night", he makes a similar reference to the place to be aside from the problems of life. "But keep.. away from me." This part of the song says he wants to be alone, and that he is utterly disgusted by humans, and his content would be derived from his solitude and making away of the problems of life. This is similar to the "We Come out at Night" where he says: "I need this place to get away from you." "We may have created the beginning... mentally." Again refers to the human delusions. " I see through you, the fear is in your eyes." Expresses to humans reactions towards a "inconvenient" reality. This song is probably Matt's favorite song, since it in brief makes up for his complete phylosophy. And his most phylosophical thoughts. It is aswell my favorite song. |

IronBmike? What makes you think A7x is conservative. Did you ever listen to "Breaking Their Hold" from Sounding the Seventh Trumpet? A7x is more of a liberal band. Not only did they make it obvious in that song, but every other of their song in their past albums manifests a sublime critique. Unholy Confessions, Remenissions, Second Heartbeat, And All Things will End.. However, there's a bizarre theory about there apparent change in music. And Bat Country's video is very suspicious in this regard. If you desire to investigate it, it's something related to obscure conspiracy theories of secret organizations. |
