Trophy Scars – Addict. Addicts. Lyrics 18 years ago
"This song's called 'I'm a drug addict'" - Jerry himself in Albany last weekend. A lot of his songs are so ambiguous it's hard to pinpoint one meaning. It seems in this one he's talking about his drug abuse and how he's using it as an escape from this girl who seems hesitant to act.

"My throat is getting soar and I think I’m feeling sick
Yeah I’m sick, I’m sick, I’m sick, that’s it!
My tongue is swelling up and I’m slipping down the slip…"

To me that sounds exactly like how it feels when you first feel your trip set in when you eat shrooms (which do go great with orange juice or as he said in the show "these shrooms go better with juice... or beer... or juice). You straight edge kids probably wouldn't understand though. Thanks Jerry for not being a straight edge little pussy and singing about things I can relate to.

Underoath – In Regards to Myself Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is so powerful. I like to listen to it in the morning to get "pumped up" so to speak. I don't think UnderOATH is as one dimentional as some people like to make them out to be. It doesn't have to be about Christ completely, but definitely G-d.

To me these lyrics seem as if Spencer is talking about a time when he distanced himself from his spiritual self. "You're busy living now aren't you?" really sums it up for me. Most people tend to get so caught up in the day to day that they leave behind what's most important, getting in touch with yourself and with G-d. Often in religion "the book" is a reference to the book of life in which we "write in" with everything we do. Tearing pages out of the book could represent leaving behind a past where Spencer (or anyone) was so lost in fickle crap that he lost a connection with what's important.
